Brief History of SBH Staff Association, Karnataka State Unit
As per the directions of AIBEA, our central office took a decision during its Vizag conference to introduce federal system, accordingly, Karnataka State Unit was the first unit to be formed on 14th October, 2001, under the dynamic leadership of Com. N. S. Peshkar. He was elected as General Secretary and Com. Gopal Vaidya was elected as President. Since then, our state unit has been functioning successfully and has curved a niche amongst all state units.
After the retirement of Com. N. S. Peshkar, a new team of Office bearers took over on 18th June, 2005, under the leadership of Com. Srinivas Joshi, General Secretary and Com. Gopal Vaidya, President, held by other office bearers and CC members inspite of huge void left by the retirement of Com. N. S. Peshkar. The new team has been successfully managing the affairs of the Association without any major problems and has appreciated by AIBEA, KPBEF and our central office.
Apart from Trade Union activities under the banner of SBH Staff Association, we have regularly undertaken social activities such as helping the inmates of Datta Bala Seva Ashram, Ghanagapur, Nand Gokul, Gulbarga and Blind schools at Raichur and Humnabad. We also celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of AIBEA, SBH Staff Association and Golden Jubilee of KPBEF. We also celebrate Women's Day every year and invite local women celebrities for the function and honour them.
